Truly Scrumptious (part two)…
So today we’ll look at the other TBk designs in the second Fyberspates Scrumptious book.
Firstly, the biggy. Cherwell Throw:

The brief was for a cable throw, but not all knitted in one go. So, completely and utterly ripping off bestie pal over in NYC, Miss Kay of MDK fame, here it is. Strips of cables with no sewing! Kay has been working out how to ‘sew’ blankets together for years with no sewing and nearly 2 years ago now when we were over there with her and the Mitered Crosses Blanket was her latest project on the needles she threw some squares at me with the instruction to ‘pick up, and cast off together to join’. And so I squirreled that thought away. It makes a lovely, linear divide between the cables. And no sewing. Still channelling Kay (as she is my Blanket Guru) the only thing left to add was an i-cord border.
I love this, it is possibly one of my favourite designs ever because it is so simple. The cables are all quite unusual, though, and striking.
And if you’ve got the throw, you might want a couple of cushions, Wandle and Waddon. Again, no sew. Well, apart from the buttons. And end darning-in.

As yesterday, everything’s knitted in the (truly) Scrumptious Aran. Details: Cherwell Throw, Waddon Cushion Cover and Wandle Cushion Cover. Buy the book from Jeni here.

I can’t keep up with all the things I see on your blog that I want to knit!
I’m just not that fast though :~{
The cabled blanket has zipped right up to the top of the list…
