Truly Scrumptious…(part one)

VOL2_cover_lowres

Another cover for Corlyna! Although this version is called Kennet. It’s basically Corlyna upsized for adults, in the (truly) Scrumptious Aran weight. Yes, we could have done it in the 4-ply like the baby one but then the little shell pattern wouldn’t have looked the same proportion-wise on bigger bodies, hence the move up a couple of weights. It really works rather nicely.

It’s more of a longer-line, throw-on jacket than a dinky cardi. Snuggly. Wearable.

Same construction as Corlyna, top-down – you can easily make the body as long or as boxy as you fancy. 3/4 / bracelet sleeves as written, but again you could make them longer, or wear with lovely long gloves if you want snug wrists. All details here (on Ravelry) and buy the book direct from Jeni at Fyberspates here. At £9 for 9 designs it’s amazing value. Tomorrow we’ll look at the other 3 designs of mine in the book, so if you like knitting for your home then pop back as there’s a cable-y throw and a couple of cushions.

And I couldn’t resist the opportunity to put this in, although I was always more fond of the Child Catcher myself…

Did you know that Ian Fleming wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? A far cry from Bond, James Bond…

Truly Scrumptious!
Yes, we knew here in Philadelphia. It’s a great story (though there is no Miss Scrumptious in the book) with a fabby fudge recipe at the end.
