Krautrock, Knitting and Giving Things Away

We have mentioned before that we are cycling fans. Patterns have been (and will be in the future) named after some of our Team GB cyclists who had such a good Olympics.

So, imagine our delight when it was announced today that the Tour de France is coming to England in 2014! It will start in Leeds, Yorkshire, there will be 2 stages around ‘God’s Own County’ (as it’s known by inhabitants) and then a third stage will finish in London (‘capital of the world’, as it’s known by inhabitants) before heading off back over the Channel to La Belle France.

We thought this deserved a celebration. So, we have a giveaway! Between now and Sunday night (11.59pm, 16th December 2012) leave a comment on this post and you’ll be entered into a draw to win a copy of the Chapeau! pattern (full explanation here of why this is even vaguely connected to the Tour de France) AND your choice of Artesano Aran yarn to knit a Chapeau! in, donated very kindly by the lovely people at Artesano. How cool is that?

(3-colour Chapeau! there, just to remind you what it looks like.)

And while we’re on the subject of cool and the Tour de France, feast your eyes and ears on Kraftwerk and their Tour de France.

(If you can, listen to that on headphones, the stereo effect is amazing.)(And, no, we didn’t get tickets to the Tate concerts!)

We’re giddy with excitement at the prospect of the Tour in Yorkshire, maybe even going along the A59 near us.

Ooh I’d love to be entered for the draw please! Really made me giggle when I heard Geoff Boycott’s reaction to the news on the radio this morning…..
