Still on the glove theme… having turned them inside out, doesn’t the ‘wrong’ side of the pattern look lovely? Reminds me of raspberries in this ‘Pot Pourri’ colour.

Above is the ‘wrong’ side, and below, the ‘right’ side (on the left) and the ‘wrong’ side (on the right). Nice, eh?

Slightly less grumpy today, but wishing the fridge thermostat on order from Italy would hurry up and get here. Now a week without a fridge and getting very bored of coping with a pint of milk in a cool bag.

More gloves. This is not like me. But at least this pair is for me, hurrah!

These are Classic Elite ‘Vail’. I think. The ballband is somewhere or other.
I am grumpy, can you tell? I have just wasted an hour of my life once more trying to get Olympic tickets. I live within spitting distance of the stadium and have been madly enthusistic about the event as a whole since, ooooh, running up and down the kitchen like a loony on 6th July 2007 when Jacques Rogge said ‘the city of …London’ (instead of ‘Paris’, as we were all secretly expecting). And I can expect to see – the torch relay. Possibly, if I can be bothered to make the effort, which I might not given the amount of effort I’ve put in trying to get tickets and got nowhere. Ick. I suppose at least Hackney Council planted a cherry tree outside my house to brighten the street up for the influx of visitors.
I am not a serial knitter, unlike someone who might have had a thing for cowls recently. So this multiple glove knitting is making me grumpy too, and it shouldn’t because nobody is making me knit them. I am obvs just grumpy. The rain that we’ve had ever since the drought was announced is not helping, I must admit. To make matters worse, there is another pair of gloves to knit, but I musn’t be grumpy knitting them as they’re for a dear pal who is off to the other side of the world for a New Life. They will be in this:

Quince and Co ‘Finch’ in Honey. Which frankly looks nothing like any honey I’ve ever seen but perhaps it’s some single-pollen artisan honey only available in the US. It does, however, almost-very-nearly match a colour that Orla Kiely uses a lot in her designs, and said pal is a big Orla fan.
See, I’m so grumpy I can’t even be bothered to do links to things and people. But it’s Kay that’s been cowl-obsessed… (to name names).
